I had severe backlit conditions. I exposed them pretty well. When I looked at them on the computer they looked horrible. The faces were good but the contrast was not there it looked like there was a dust storm. The histogram was far from the left but correct on on the right. I shot in raw so I pumped up the shadows and they came around. The color temp went red so I brought it down. I am not sure I handled the post correctly but I think they are OK.

I used a 120-300 with a 1.4 @f4. These are at or near 420 MM
C&C welcome.

They're better than OK, Bill -- they're excellent! #4 might be just a tiny bit too tight but then we have no idea what got cropped out and your judgment is probably spot on. #1's my favorite with #2 a very close second -- love the smokin' bat.

Really nice shots. Love #1. The concentration on his face is awesome, and it's a really crisp shot.

Thanks guys,
I don't think number four is cropped at all he was on first happy with himself for getting a hit and I was near the fence. That was 420 mm I shoudl have backed off a little.

Think of the backlight as an opportunity!
It lights up their edges and sets them off the background.
I like the dust flying off the ball and bat as they make contact.
I like seeing how it takes every ounce of strength to make
their baby hands squeeze that bat...
