Review Settings.

Ok, I have set my camera to review on(info) so I can see the histogram. What setting do you use for time? I am gonna try 4 sec but is there a downside to this. I believe that on the review setting on(info) that will show the histogram.

I know.. I should go try it but I am at work and Camera at home.. Thanks for any help.

I have my review time set for 4 secs with the "on(info)" option which gives the histogram. I supposed I'm draining the battery more than the default 2 secs, but I haven't noticed since I changed.

I have mine set to hold but I generally push the shutter button down 1/2 way which puts you back in shooting mode it is shooting priority.

I have review turned off.. I figure I look at the image maybe one out of twenty five to fifty... maybe more .. so why have the review pop up the pther 49 times?

It saves on right timing...

I just hit the review button when I do need to see a shot.

My preview is "off", too ....

I don't need to see how each and every shot turns out. If I take a shot that I think may be 1) suspect, or 2) really good, then I'll take a look at it.

But I don't as a rule examine every shot I take after I've taken one. Plus, not having review on and activating the LCD screen saves on battery life.

Depends on what you're shooting. When I'm shooting action, I don't have time to review. Having the auto review on doesn't obligate you to look at it.

Undeniably, experience is a factor. The more experience, the less time spent checking your last shot.

my review is on 2 seconds. i've tried longer, and turning it off. i don't look after every shot - unless it's one of the kids making a really great play (like an amazing score by reaching out their arm with the rugby ball and placing it down, over the try line). i also admit, i may have gone 'ooh ooh' once or twice.

knowing that i have a problem, i've been able to control my addiction. i now look only when there is a break in play, or after the game. more importantly, the advice of my support group has conditioned to look at the histogram and make any corrections.

i do not feel i will be completely cured anytime soon, but the more time i spend work towards accepting my problem, the better my life has been with it.

It was timmyquest who first alerted this forum to chimping. But that was in the days when he was young and still new to the forum. He's now moved on to "top contributor" status which I am told cures all chimping behavior -- forever. This post brings me closer one step closer to my salvation. :wink:

Oblio, here was I thinking that a scrum had something to do with rugby when in fact it is a Chimper's support group hug. Try duct tape over the LCD, unfortunately it means you will have to go cold turkey but I'm sure you can find enough fellow chimpers (even here) to give you support.

This not so subtle indictment of chimping is a gross invasion of freedom of speech and privacy. I hope you agree. :x

CDS, second step. First is admitting it, third step is apologising to all your fellow photogs, but making sure you don't interrupt their chimping when you do.

Was alongside someone shooting with a pair of MK-II's the other day (how does one get two?) and shiny red racing cars in bright sunlight are coming out daglo pink. He is returning both to be fixed or refunded and sticking with his MK-I's for the time being. Chimping through pink cars sounds revolting.
