Problems with Sigma DG500 flash & 10D?

Anyone experiencing problems with the DG500 and their 10D?
Got a friend that can't get his to fire in manual mode, it will only firee in "Program" mode.

Any ideas, other than buy Canon, like I told him in the first place????

I've had no such problem with it on my DRebel. Flash has multiple modes including slave ettl (assuming it is is the Super which is what I have) make sure he has it in the right mode. Check the manual which is not that well written to make sure it is in the correct mode.

The 500DG doesn't do ETTL, the 500 DG Super does. Make sure you have the right one.

Update: The 10D is damaged. It will not fire a 550EX either. So he is going to have to send it in. Anyone know the turn-a-round time for service?
