Here's my take on the awesome DTM @ Brands Hatch last weekend. I was there all 3 days, very knackering but enjoyable nonetheless :) Rather than create multiple threads I thought I'd wait and do one post here...

The DTM cars really impress me. In terms of performance they really make our BTCC look tame... despite that, you definitely can't beat our panel bashing ;)

Anyway here's a few compressed "forum friendly sized" photos...

Thought I'd mention... a couple of months ago I bought a Sigma 50-150mm F2.8, used it for a weekend and then returned it for refund. Nice lens but between the 100-150mm it front-focused. Not happy.

Anyway I decided to get a Canon 24-105mm F4 IS instead. Much happier with this. Seems quick to focus and sharp, especially between 24-80mm. Good walkaround / paddock lens and also good for the occasional pan (well to please Dave lol).

Next up I need a flashgun... any suggestions most welcome.

Cheers

All wonderful pictures, #1 is my favorite. With a good vantage point and a little bit of luck, we get some great sparks that make for great pictures. It really adds a sense of motion to the picture. #2 is a great vantage point as well. I could go on and on, but it should suffice to say that they're all top notch captures.

Very nice Az. I love the first one and number 11;) As for a flash I've got the 580 & the 550 and they are both excellent flashes although I prefer the operation of the 580 and I'll probably get a 580 MKII for the weather sealing soon.

Cheers

Thanks guys :)

I was thinking of the 430 EX Speedlite as it's a half-sensible price at around £165.00 plus £10 cashback. I'm a complete "noob" with flash, only ever having used the onboard flash. Can somebody give me some simple benefits of the flash? I'm hoping to use it for "fill-in", particularly when shooting people and when shooting a subject with a bright background. I guess the max guide no. is to do with how far it will light up (power)? Wohoo I love not having a clue :)
