Great, great shots...
Are these California or Pennsylvania trees... There are some big ones in both states...

I think you bumped the saturation quite a bit too much, and the second one is terribly out of focus. I would have suggested manual focus on the tips of the trees, as the bottoms of the trees are in focus when the tips of the perspective seem to be the main subject. I do like the composition of the first one, but the colors throw it off, a strong black and white conversion would make it much better, expecially if you add some strong whites along the trunks. ;)

Thx for the comments guys, I'll definitely do some messing around! As for the saturation of the first one, I purposefully oversaturated it to add to the intensity, but I guess it didn't work out as well as I had intended it to...
