Ok. I've finally got my sagephotoworld set up for professional photography.

I don't want a flashy site (read I do the design and building myself hence I try to steer well clear of CSS, Frames and Java etc). I won't be putting prices online either.

I'm thinking of putting one or two photos from the first wedding gallery as SVGA sized images as advertising (it's agreed with the B+G).

Also thinking of listing my site with wistv.

So... any suggestions on improvement?

Your site has the basic of basic looks. I think there is probably alot you can do with it, add some color, etc.

I wouldn't post a whole wedding in there like you have. I would keep this down to your best wedding shots.

How are the people supposed to contact you, there doesn't seem to be any contact information.

It is really very, very basic isn't it?

I don't think you need anything too 'flashy' but it would be good to have some sort of branding across the different pages - perhaps a logo and colour scheme etc.

Also, there isn't much content. Well, there's hardly any content. You need some content, some more galleries...

I'd imagine the site should be there to showcase your images, so it could be an idea to have some images on the home page to grab the attention of the visitors. The front page looks like a rather dull Wordpad document at the moment.

Don't be afraid of using CSS - it can make global changes to the site very easy and will help you get a nice feel across all the pages.

I'm sure you have many plans for the site, particularly as you mention that you are setting up for 'professional' photography. Therefore you'll need ways for folk to contact you and purchase your images - whether it be in the forms of prints or licenced, rights managed orders. I think the word 'professional' indicates that you'll need some kind of pricing structure.

In all honesty, I think you have a lot of work ahead of you and I wish you the best of luck. To save your time, it might be an idea to enlist the help of a web designer? or perhaps to use a site template or even an existing customisable hosting service like smugmug or photoshelter?

Cheers!

I'm working a page at a time. What do you think of the wedding page now? Ignore the gallery - that's a temprorary feature that I'll remove in a week or so - that's just so that the people from my 1st wedding can see their pictures.
