I received this email from one of my brides-to-be this year.
"Hey... I have stumbled upon a website featuring photos of bride's "trashing" their dress and I absolutely love the idea. I was wondering if you would be open to the idea... If you are, let me know..."
I've been wanting to do this for awhile, just wasn't sure how to ask one of my brides to do it, and then I get one asking me if I would be open to the idea!! ummm... yah!!! :)
I replied that I am VERY interested in doing this and I get this reply
"I am VERY open to whatever your ideas might be...
As in how... I am up for anything!!! The trashier the better, lol!!!"
This should be awesome! Too bad I might have to wait until next year to do the shots, can't wait though.
Just thought I'd share.

Awesome Jeff!
You know who you'll want for a 2nd shooter for that photo shoot, right? ;)

Definitely keep you in mind, the couple is from Toronto, so it's in your neck of the woods :)

Oh excellent! There's lots of awesome locations in the area for trash the dress.

That's great! I just sent an email to a young couple who i'm just doing a wedding for now asking if they'd like to do one. Fingers crossed!

I'm envious, Jeff. That should be a great creative outlet. :)
I'm going to offer them on my website and will probably offer a "Let's Get Trashed" post prom session for teens. it's on the Trash the Dress site, too.

I just did my first trash the dress shot 2 weeks ago, it's so much fun and if you have a bride who is happy to go with all your ideas then the sky's the limit
Enjoy!!

Sounds great Toggy. Once you have done the shoot, just put a few shots in your portfolio and your perspective brides will all be asking you for a trashin' session.

send your local paper the link to the big NY times article (if they have a lifestyle/wedding section) - ask them if they would like to cover your session. believe me, it works - and you get an extreme amount of free publicity.

If you offer the prom version, I'd be interested in hearing how that goes over. My first thought after reading your post was, "Cool, great idea." Followed very quickly by, "Wait a minute. Not a chance." I would have absolutely no problems trashing my wedding dress. Regular formal dress though, I do/did use more than once though, so I'd be afraid of the dress getting permanently trashed more than a trip to the cleaners could fix.
