I bought the Lens adaptor with the clip on cover cap, not the one that falls off easy, the hood, wide angle, tele angle, and some filters

i played with them, they seem to do what they are ment to do, they take good pics by far. definately cool if you dont wanna spend money on DSLR + lens.

I've been thinking about getting similar accessories for my a640. I'm glad they work for your S3IS. It makes me feel less nervous about ordering them.

Well, to tell you the truth, i'm not jealus at all....

Now, seriously... Congratulations for your purchase!. To buy those kind of things, is always in my head. The thing is, now i've a new job and i have almost no time (or day time should i say ?) free, so right now i'd think that all those beauties should be resting at home most of the time...

would you be so kind in order to show us sample pictures?. I'd really would like to see what those babies can do !

Congratulations one more time, and enjoy them !

I think you are going to love these accessories. I have the 58MM adapter, because I already had several filters of that size on hand. I also have the Canon 1.5 teleconcerter, and find it to work very well. Enjoy your purchase!

Where did you buy the lenses? Those might be the next accessories I buy for the S2, or if I buy another S-series in the future.
Nice 'stang.

Alex_H,
I just purchased an adapter, wide angle (.7x) and tele (1.75x) for my A620. I believe these are the same items you would use for the A640 (except for the adapter). Let me know if you have any questions, and I'll help out anyway I can.

They have similar results to the one's posted here, just not as much zoom, etc...here's the 'kit':

Where did you buy them from? I have been looking a lensmateonline.com. They are highly recommended by the people around here.

I shopped around a little, and decided to buy from B&H. They had everything I wanted in stock, and had been recommended by others.

I paid a little over $320 for the following (including shipping):

lens adapter, wide lens (.7x), tele lens (1.75x), 58mm canon haze filter, and the pelican 1200 case w/ foam insert

I could have purchased an S3 IS for close to that, but I'm trying to maximize the A620 while saving for a 5D and glass...

What is this B&H of which you speak? Iwant to give it a look.

B&H : http://www.bhphotovideo.com/

adapter: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/397954-REG/Canon_0800B001_LA_DC58F_Lens_Adapter_for.html

wide lens: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/262140-REG/Canon_8158A001_WC_DC58N_0_7x_Wide_Angle.html

tele lens: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/262141-REG/Canon_8159A001_TC_DC58N_1_75x_Teleconverter_Lens.h tml

These don't list the A640, but I think the ring on the front of the A640 and the lens is the same as the A620.

The other item I'm going to buy is a male/male 58mm to 52mm ring so I can make a 'super macro' from an old minolta SLR lens as others have posted here.

One warning, the flash is all but useless with these lenses added to the camera as they create a HUGE shadow...so a bracket and slave flash are other possible items to look into.

Nice meats on the rear wheels! I'm also a car guy myself. My next car will be a green or blue WRX 5spd, and rest assured I'll take plenty of pics of it. :)
