Heya guys!

Yesterday I purchased more glass, this time, two new L-lenses:

EF 17-40 f/4L
EF 100-400 f/4.5-5.6LIS

I wasn't able to try them much, actually the 17-40L not at all other than test shots of a wall, so I post here two 100% crops from the 100-400L at 400mm, f/5.6 (wide open) and on ISO 800 (lots of grain)

Here is now a photo that shows how IS works well, this very-little-blurry photo was taken at 400mm, f/5.6, ISO 800, and 1/3rd of a second! Really happy how IS works well. :)

I'll try to get some better shots, maybe of ducks! And that on 400mm wide open on ISO 100 hopefully.

Cheerio,
Aero

Looks pretty good. IS is amazing isn't it?

Oh yes it is. :)

I hadn't noticed how much IS is really needed when I had the 17-85 IS and 70-300 IS which have both been sold.

Will try to post bird shots later.

Regards,
Aero

Here are finally some 100% crops from the day after I bought it... @400mm, f/5.6 of course!

You think it's acceptably sharp? ;)

Please don't blame me that there are no ducks... I went to the pond yesterday but the sun was too low and I rather wanted to try the 100-400LIS+1.4x+1D IIn combo on people walking down our main shopping street than photographing some ducks. :-P
