View Full Version : Printer Calibration

I've searched, but failed to find what I'm looking for.

I bought a Canon i960 printer today, and have been trying to get a good print since. with defaults selected I got "orange~purple-ish" pictures. I changed the quality and did custom colors, and I got to a point where it look ~okay to the eye, but it might still be far from optimized.

Is there a more accurate way to calibrate the printer (colors) ?

Unusual to have such severe problems right out of the box.

Do you have the 6 ink tanks in the right slots? (Had to ask :) )
What application (software) are you using for editing and for printing?
If you are using Photoshop, see this thread for more detailed help: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=29530

Yup, it was baaad out of the box.
I'm using photoshop to print.
The 6 cartriges are in the correct slots too

I'll check out the link a little later, and get back.

Thank for the input :!:

Could be that one or more of the nozzles are plugged or, at least, not fully open. I've had this happen with my i960 after letting it sit for too long between print runs. Try the deep cleaning proceedure; you'll find it under the maintenance tab on the printer driver software dialogs.
