Few Photos From Today - 16-06-07

Fun day today, nice couple who enjoyed having photos taken and had obviously put a lot of effort into organising their big day, even my wife was impressed at all the little touches which takes some doing!

Rain interupted play quite often today and when it came down it came down in bucket loads but we still managed a few pics outside in between downpours.

Quite a few firsts for us today, first time we had shot a wedding which was also being videoed, first time we had proper rain, video lights during first dance were cool, we printed 35 6x4 prints on the day, 10 for the mini album we give the B&G on the day now and 25 that they wanted for putting in guests thankyou gifts, first time we had shot a wedding at the salvation army (they were very kewl about photos!) all in all it was a busy old day but a whole lot of fun and yet more stuff learned.

Photos below are camera jpg's we ran through showit efects for the slideshow we did there and then ive just batched a border round them.

Polite C&C welcome, WB may be off on some but we will sort that when we process the RAWs.

oo nice shots! hate to say but shot number 2 is my fav!! that girl looks too cute.

the shoes/tiara looks bit grainy for me but thats my tastes. the closeup of the back of dress is a winner too!

Number 2 is also one of my faves from the day, this little girl was an absolute star on the day and she just loved the camera, makes it dead easy to get shots when you have kids like that.

i think you could brighten up one a good bit- but its still a great shot ;) and I LOVE the champagne shot- LOVE it! Great idea!! :)

They're all excellent, but the image of the little girl is probably my favorite. I also love the detail shots of the back of the dress and the shoes. Those are the shots I most enjoy doing. :)

I absolutely love the composition and style of your photos, but I have found most of them to be underexposed, grainy, or not sharp/out of focus. Is your monitor calibrated?

Great Shots. I agree with the brightening of some but I absolutely LOVE the champagne shot!! Tell me please, was it set up or did you mangage to just grab it? That bridesmaid is a cutie too!

Yeah they look a bit dark on mine too today, they were just JPG's from the camera yesterday that I ran an action on for the slideshow and then bordered for the blog when I got home .. they also look dark on my calibrated monitors today.

Thanks for the nice words on composition and style, weve been working hard on our in camera composition and crop as for our first wedding we cropped nearly every shot, 6 weddings in we arent having to crop many at all now and are very pleased with not having to ! :)

Awesome. I've noticed each wedding I'm getting progressively better at my compositions and crops as well. That's great man. I'd much rather see a unique composition like yours versus a boring typical photo that has it's exposure dead on. :)

Gotta say I am pleased with that also and it wasnt a setup. I was doing a few macros shots of the flowers in the kitchen when the bride started pouring some champagne for her bridesmaids, when she got to the third glass and after I had shot a couple of duff shots I had managed to squeeze into the position I wanted to capture it... nice cute kids at weddings do make our job easier dont they!

Number 2 was just natural light from the window I positioned her facing then a bit of vignette, lessons learned from the MOWP 2 dvd that stuck with.

Started ranking the photos from this wedding yesterday and I am really pleased at how it went as I reckon we have at least a dozen shots that jump out for our portfolio and expanding that is one of our main goals for this year.

First double header next weekend, Saturday and Sunday ... eeeeek :)
