A couple More Burrowing Owls

A twosome, not sure if this is a mating pair or what, they were in the same burrow.

Still not very happy with the quality of these. In some ways the first ones were better even though backlit. I will have to keep trying. They were pretty skittish. The prairie dogs went crazy when I approached and everyone took cover. It was two hours later that the chick emerged briefly.

Very cool shots. The ones I use to see looked like they were living in an old dog mound. Were these right in with the dogs? How cool would that be? :D

Yep they are in the same "colony" with the prairie dogs. You saw the one from last week (backlit) with the prairie dog and owl right together, right?

They're pretty small, many of the prairie dogs are bigger than they are. :)
