I shot this wedding on Memorial Day weekend. I've actually already posted this photo, but in color. My customer did not want any prints and I had the hi-res files ready for them in 2 weeks, but we kept missing each other so I could give them to her. I finally met up with her today and gave her this 5x7 print in a nice frame as a sign of my appreciation for them letting me shoot their wedding.

They loved the shot and the bride actually cried when she saw it. Made me feel good.

Anyway.... here's the print......... Thanks Tim for your vignette technique.

And yes.... I know he has a candle growing out of his head :o.

Nice photo. So remove the candle, it's a 2 minute fix! Suggestion for next time, have his head slightly further forward so you don't get the shadow from her face. That's not something i'd be likely to notice on a wedding day myself.

Thanks Tim. I noticed the shadow too, but must admit, I get a little nervous when doing weddings..... there's sooooo much on the line. But I do think I'm getting better. I have already fixed the candle as well.

Looks good Jamey and I like the B&W version and I agree about removing the candle. The customer didn't order any prints at all?

What did you charge them for the wedding? I'm going to assume they didn't order any prints because they new they would have the digital negatives. Was that figured into the cost of your service? I know several photographers on this forum only provide the negatives for an additional fee to their standard wedding fees.

This is a very nice photo... and the candle in the head is a really easy fix. The shadow thing is something I've been bit by before as well. I still think it's a winner!

I can tell you, they were way undercharged. But yes, I did charge them for the files. They actually said upfront they didn't want any prints. We did negotiate on the price a little though.

I've learned I'm definitely undercharging for the amount of time I put into the day and what they get. I just recently up'd my prices. I think I'm going to be a victim of "you're charging too much". Even though I know I'm about 1/3 of most photographers in the area.

I hope to do this full time one day, but can't afford the leap just yet. That's why my prices are low, to get the word of mouth out there. The quality is there, just not the rep......... YET!!!!!

Thanks a lot. I've seen your work and I appreciate the compliment. Means a lot. They loved the photo.
