Went to my first Formula One event. I wasn't able to stay Sunday for the race so I got to shoot practice on Friday and Qualy on Saturday.
Access is extremely limited. There are about 400 photographers trying to cram into one of the four photo holes that spectators can shoot through. Pretty ridiculous actually. Here is what I got after a quick once through:

Hey Chris...glad you had a good time....I like the reflection shot...pretty creative. Man, you got around...I recognize most angles, but where were the shots of Couthard (first one) and Hamilton taken?

Looking forward to seeing more and also the IRL test stuff. Try not to make me look bad! ;)

Number 7 is absolutely spot on.

Here's why I think it is so good: (others more qualified may correct me if they feel the need)

- The car body is VERY sharp, yet the wheels/tyres are nicely blurred.

- There is enough of the background to give a sense of where the driver is going but not enough to be distracting.

- There is dynamism in the car itself. Car leaning into the corner and you can see the driver turning the wheel.

- Technical interest in the form of the brand new tyres and heat haze behind the car.

- Comercial interest in the "Gives you wings" on his helmet.

Brilliant. I'd have that printed as big as you can and HUNG !

Gary.

Thanks Terry, The first shot of Coulthard was shot on top of a GIANT mound outside of Turn 11. The mound isn't all that big, but it's easily the tallest one there, huge.

I think the shot of Hamilton was taken outside of turn7. There is a hole in the fence you can shoot through if you sit/kneel on the sied of the hill. Not a bad location.

Yeah, cause that's gonna happen... Impossible.:)

Thanks Gary. I haven't sorted/processed everything, but thats my favorite shot so far. Definitely getting a print made of that!
