I live near Astoria Park, in Queens, New York. Nearby, there are several wedding reception halls, and the photographers frequently take the wedding parties for excursions to the park to take advantage of the scenery.

I didn't want to bother the pro while he's working, and I'm reasonably sure that his shots had excellent composition against a gorgeous backdrop, but there were one or two distracting elements that he probably had a hard time working around.

This photo is not meant to be an example of my photographic skills, but I just couldn't resist taking it.

I call this picture "The Importance of Proper Cropping"

Care to elaborate on what your particular concerns are?

I think he just means that its important to compose your shots correctly and that you can have a poor location but still get some great shots if you pay attention to your composition and whats in the background .... yes ?

Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean that I had any particular concerns. I just thought it was amusing to think of the beautiful pictures that this bride and groom will have as compared to what the shots would look like if the photographer didn't know how to compose properly. I just wanted to illustrate the stark contrast for the sake of amusement, is all.

Maybe we should rename the tread into "The importance of being earnest".

Freakin´copyright, bro!!!
Yeah, let´s be creative. Just make sure you take some good friends with attitude with you for the shoot and check out if you are allowed to make a fire there or you´ll have the police attend the shoot as well... "Look mom, that´s where they hand-cuffed my husband..."
