Back to Oulton Park again this weekend for another day trackside. Regulars to UK circuits may have noticed the big increase in grids that are comprised of Renaults. This is because Renault are pumping a lot of money and resource into UK motorsport this season and it really shows. Anyway, onto the matter in hand -

I love the 'up close and personal' shots:

It was wet for the first Kart race:

I like to take the chequered flag shots, always a challenge:

Did I mention big Renault grids? Remember, this is club racing:

Back at the chequered flag for that winner:

An experimental three quarter shot pan shot of a FR doing about 130mph:

An MG battle through Lodge:

Lots of power:

And the weekend rounded off with a Hamilton win. Lots of empty seats in the stands I noticed, I bet SIlverstone is packed to the rafters. BTCC next week, more boredom....

Top work Ken.
Always bizarre to see the "little" karts going round a big track.

Just a bit on the experimental shot. By accident I took a pan shot with that particular fence in the background and noticed how cool it looked. It isn't a standard chain-link type of fence and it produces the most superb 'go faster' blurred background. It was then a matter of getting the right angle and height for the pan to get the effect I wanted. Doing it on something travelling at 130mph was 'interesting'. I'll see what it looks like with a touring car this weekend.

Andy how/why Kart racers do it amazes me. Travelling at over 100mph with your butt an inch above deck and no roll cage does not appeal to me at all.
