Does anybody know a (free) program that can write GPS coordinates as exif data to an image?
I have seen a lot of these kind of programs on the net, but all they do is take the coordinates from the trackfile of your GPS and place a watermark with the coordinates on the image. Now I do not want to mess up my photo with a watermark, but I want the the coordinates as EXIF data in my photo. Exif does support GPS coordinates, so it must be possible (I hope :))
Thanks,
Martin

Thanks Henk.
I already tried Oziphototool, but it seems I had an older version that only wattermarked the image.
This one works the way I wanted it. Check out http://photography-on-the.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=220351#220351 for a result of GPS data in EXIF. (Can you find the location from where I took the photo?)

Can you post the EXIF data as well?
I use OZI a lot in the desert and still need to try this feature.

I don't know exactly what you mean by posting the EXIF data.
You can use photoshops file info feature to read the exif data from an image or even better PhotoStudio (http://www.stuffware.co.uk/).
The GPS EXIF data for the image I mentioned above is:
GPSVersionID: 2.000
GPSLatitudeRef: N
GPSLatitude: 51/1 58/1 29/1 (= 51deg 58min 29sec North)
GPSLongitudeRef: E
GPSLongitude: 5/1 54/1 41/1 (= 5deg 54min 41sec East)
GPSAltitudeRef: 0
GPSAltitude: 28/1 (= 28 meters, but I do not trust this value)
GPSTimeStamp: 13/1 53/1 50/1 (= 13:53:50 hours GMT)
GPSMapDAtum: WGS84
I do not know how EE handles this, I have not tried it yet, but it would be great if the GPS coordinates would be read and posted automaticly.

Thouight you hid them somewhere. I post my shots using Breezebrowser and it should be pretty easy to adjust the templates.

It looks like Oziphototool is no longer being updated. Anyone know of another simple program that can accomplish this task? I looked at RoboGEO, but it's way more complicated then I need. I just want to take the track, the jpg, and write the exif...

Now I do not want to mess up my photo with a watermark, Where does it put it? Maybe just shoot a bit wide so you can crop it out after.
One problem I see with that is if the program saves the file at a smaller quality than you started with.

There are a few programs that do this.
oziphototool is an interface to exifedit, a command line utility that creates copies of the jpg image when it adds the information. You can turn off watermarking - just read the instructions. It was written to work with an oziexplorer track log.
Panorado Flyer ( http://www.panorado.com/en/index.htm?PanoradoFlyer.htm ) is a free (windows) shell extension that allows manual entry or will get the coords from Google Earth. It adds the geographic information to the existing jpg without uncompressing and recompressing the jpg data.
I haven't found anything that will directly add the info to a RAW file, however I have added the coords to an XMP sidecar file. Adobe lightroom will read the information and add it to an exported jpg.
imatch has a few scripts that will add the coords from a tracklog. I haven't used them so don't know how accurate they are with respect to time offset.

What extra's do you need to do this on a 30D? It doesn't have a GPS unit in it.
