I think the Redhead is coming to expect you to be around! Very nice series. I also like the Good Night shot. You still have a hint of red in it.
My wife and I were talking. We don't think we've seen a Red-headed Woodpecker since we moved back to PA from Georgia and that was a long, long time ago.

Has this redhead become your friend? He seems very comfortable in your presence. Vibrant colours, great details in the feathers. Very nice captures.

They are very active now nesting season. I left the hint of red in for ID if shown alone. Very easy to remove!!
Thanks Ed

There are several pairs to pick from. I think there are 5 or 6 pairs in a 100 yards square area.

Gary.....No doubt about it....the Red-headed Woodpecker is a beautiful bird. I wish we had them out West. You certainly got some beautiful captures.....very nicely done.
I surely like your shot of the Eastern kingbird.....great composition. That big ol' dragonfly is like a tripple "Big Mac" for that guy.

The kingbird almost lives off of Dragonflies and eats several per hour.

You couldn't prove they are on the decline here there are several pair nesting in 100 yard sq. area.
