Everybody, this is a "wedding photography" related poll that I have some interest in. You are welcome to vote and/or add comments at your discretion. This poll will not be helping me make or form any special opinions, rather it is simply for my information to feed my curious side! Thanks!

My wedding to my second husband was in 1986, and I think I paid all of $200 for a small traditional album of 5x5's. It was ceremony-only and traditional formals with no enlargements.

We spent less than 500 and never purchased any pictures. Photos were not a priority at the time. I did take my proofs and put them in collage frames. I got married 11 years ago.

Im getting a decent photog that is making the flush mount album (most basic package) and getting the DVD of the pictures ready for print. Ill send them over to the professional lab and save a fortune (250+ family that will be there) should save a lot.

if i was evil i would have everybody pay me a couple pennies per picture to pay down the wedding expenses but whoever wants the pictures will get them at cost besides the ones we will provide

There isn't a suitable category for me to vote in.

In a month's time Ann and I will have been married 32 years - back then we paid 50 GBP (around 100 US) for a 'professional' photographer, and maybe spent another 20 GBP (around 40 US) on prints ...the photographer was terrible and short-tempered (had another wedding to rush off to), and, with the exception of maybe 2 or 3, the photos are nothing more than poor snapshots. The whole experience has remained with us through our married life, and was a key factor for us when we sat down 2 or 3 years ago to decide whether or not we should start doing wedding photography ourselves.

That's actually a great story! I love hearing about people who suffer through horrible experiences and somehow get something profitable from it...particularly wisdom! I wish you and your wife the very best of fortune.

In today's money, that US$140 would be around US$553, so at least it wasn't the most expensive lesson ever learned!

;)

Does the person who voted for 10,000+ care to lend some insight into his/her purchase?
