Ok, so I've had my SLR for a few months now, and have not touched any of my lenses (that I am aware of).
Giotto's Blower has been my friend and I've been satisfied with just blowing off any visible crud. However I feel it's time I prepared for a more direct contact form of cleaning, particularly for my kit lens, which I took on a fast boat--- was safe from splashes, but still, mist in the air is unavoidable. I feel like it's time to get rid of the gunk that may have gathered on, and the kit lens is the one to do it on.
So far as paper goes, this seems to be one I've seen recommended a few times: Kodak Lens paper (http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FKodak-Lens-Cleaning-Tissue-Sheets%2Fdp%2FB0000AQJ5Z%3Fie%3DUTF8%26s%3Delectro nics%26qid%3D1182146507%26sr%3D8-1&tag=songgallery-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325)
You get a good amount of them (50) and they are dirt cheap ($1.99)-- a good combo to me! So I'm set on that.
What I want to know is what sort of fluid I can apply in cleaning. "Use your breath" is one I've read a surprising amount of times recommended... but I don't know, something about that sits wrong with me. If you guys can pinpoint any specific products/brands of fluids, that'd be appreciated, as I can just order it along with the tissues.
