The term "Chimping" has fianlly made it's way to FM forums... :)

It seems this is all new to them..

I think I need some "Secrect Chimp" support here... they seem to be misguided where "Chimping" is concerned

This looks like a great "pimping" opportunity !

Funny how well it rhymes 'eh?

Be one with the chimp, the chimp is your friend! :)

Can we start a new portion of the forum for chimpers?

I chimp after each shot :P , as I am not yet confident enough to "know" my exposure was good. And it helps too: sometimes I stop the lens down, but forget to slow down the shutter.....then I chimp ("Damn, it's too dark.... *delete - retake*)

Hello, my name is Cadwell and I am a chimper. It's been 14 hours since my last chimp

I confess that I sometimes use the LCD for purposes other than to check the histogram. I have even (on rare occasions) shown the produced image to someone else

(I don't think I have ever made the noise though....)

I just recently bought a new Olympus C-8080WZ (yeah, I know... Boo! Hiss!). It has an electronic viewfinder and plays the previews right inside the viewfinder if the LCD is turned off. I can chimp without anybody even knowing I'm doing it! 8)

Cadwell,
Going thru chimping withdrawl?

There is a running joke between a friend of mine and me (and a huge windup) about the differences between the Fuji FinePix S304 and the 10D.
We will be shooting aircraft pics and I nail them; he on the other hand has shutter lag to contend with. Although, I remember holding it and thinking that the BP-511s for the 10D weigh more. I feel like a clutz using the Fuji camera. Ok, so for all you who think I am comparing the 2 I am sorta, but in a humerous way. There isn't a fair way to compare a $200 camera to the 10D. However, this said the portability of the Fuji has my 10D eating its dust many many times over.

Going thru chimping withdrawl?

Nope  I got some in today at Castle Combe

It's such a hard habit to break though, every circuit I go to I see the pros all chimping away... how's an amateur like me supposed to resist? :P

Just make sure that while the pros are chimping, you're shooting... Then you can go over and chimp with the pros and show them what they missed.
