I have a trusty IXUS 40, which no longer start up. I was replacing the LCD screen and when I had put it back together, the canera does not work. When you press the on switch nothign happens. I have checl that all of the connections are good and that the battery is fully charge, but still no luck.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks

Peter

I can't help but am interested in you replacing the LCD screen. Mine has the whole bottom left corner of dead pixels (loooks like a pixel virus! it keeps growing!) How did you do it and where did you get the replacement from?

However, judging by the problems you are now having, perhaps this is not a good idea!

I found this on the net.

http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~jo262/miscellany/broken_lcd_cracked_screen_canon_sd-300_sd-200_ixus-40_ixus-30.html

The instructiosn are simple and screen was about £40, so much cheaper that a shop. It was a fairly easy repair, but I must have done something else wrong.

Good luck
Peter

ISTR this has happened to someone here before, but I can't recall details. Thread came up sometime in the last 3 months on this particular forum if that'll help the search any.
