So I thought I'd throw in my first try too. I think I am going to buy the DVDs when I am in the states next month. I want to know the little secrets to make it better. ;)

I can't see them today either! I better go check my website...

edit: my site isn't down, but all my direct links have stopped working. :( I hope it's temporary - I'm not good with such things.

Thanks Nic. :D
I'm super glad you can see them - oddly *I* can not see or open the files from my online directory. What do you suppose is going on?

edit: very interesting. After posting this I refreshed the page and now they are there. Temporary glitch in the system I guess. :)

Really can't decide which I like more! Both are stunning. The paint effect is quite sublte and seems to work really well with the subject.

WOW again. Don't we need orange over it the color contest:) :)
Have you ever seen any of Imogen Cunninghams work? Just mentioning not for you to shoot like that or that you've copied her (because your work is very different) but I feel some of the passion in your execution. GREAT STUFF!!!

Very smooth Athena. Like it.

I put a smudge painting tutorial together in the Processing Forum and I would really appreciate your comments and any further advice or adjustments in the thread:

To be honest I haven't read any tutorials. I just picked up in a different thread here (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=260882)that people are using the smudge tool to paint over photos and decided to give it a try myself.

Now that I've done a couple I am very interested to learn how to do it properly! Brad has a set of tutorials (http://www.mmkgraphics.com/tutorials/virtualpaint.html)for sale on his site (one for oils, one for pastels) that I am going to buy when I am in the states next month.

Rammy - I'll head over and check out your tutorial too. Thanks for that!

Athena - Firstly, both images are stunning, the painting effect is very subtle and the flower is already such a soft subject, you lit these very well, and so sharp! Secondly, I'm always blown away by your work, can you do no wrong? :) Thanks for sharing.
