I have been asked to do some photography for a sponsor of one of the BTCC teams. This means that I will be shooting from the other side of the fence for the first time.

I was just wondering if any of the kind souls on this forum have any advice as I don't want to get in the way of any of the established photographers but equally I see this as a massive opportunity to really see if I can cut it and produce some nice shots.

I have spent some time reading all the advice from KennyG which has been really useful but just wondering if there is any other good advice I should take on board.

Also - if any of you are going to be there it would be great to say hello.

Thanks in advance for your help!
James

Ken lives at Oulton and only returns home to post on here ;)

Seriously, if you've read all of his advice then there's not much more you could want to know. Just enter "Outlon" into the search box and there'll be all sorts of info :)

Main things to remember when you come my side of the fence are - marshals rule, period. If you intend to stand up track from a photographer who is already there, always be polite and ask if you are in their way, if you are - move.

Sign on early and if you are fit, work your way around the circuit on Saturday, keeping the sun behind you so you learn where to go for Sunday. Standard places are - Deer Leap mid morning, Old Hall lunchtime and Knickerbrook mid afternoon until close. Take waterproofs, there is no shelter when it rains. Also, good boots that are comfortable, you will be on your feet a long time.

I'll be out at Druids on Saturday morning, working my way via Lodge, Old Hall, Cascades and Hill Top to Island, then finishing the day with the afternoon races at Knickerbrook. That leaves Sunday for the serious stuff like grid girls!

I hope it is less boring than the last one.
