Actually, you astronomers probably already know this, but for us wannabes, here's a neat event!
On June 8th (conveniently on a Saturday), at sunrise on the east coast, the planet Venus will be scooting across the disc of the Sun until about 7:30 AM.
NEVER LOOK DIRECTLY AT THE SUN WITHOUT SOME TYPE OF SUITABLE EYE PROTECTION.

Can anyone give us some hints as to how to safely photograph this event?
