I have had pretty bad results with HP papers on my canon s9000 (prints turn out with visible dots especially in dark areas). I tried to find profiles without any luck. any recommendations? I am working on a mac with PS CS.

I did not like the results of HP paper with my HP printer so after the first batch, never used any of those papers again. I generally use the Kodak Premium Paper - High Gloss with my S9000 with excellent results. I initially used the Easy-Photo Print software that came with my digital camera and the color calibration via the most current S9000 driver was quite good. I don't "Mac" so I can't specifically help you with that.
You might want to confirm that your color management and profile settings are what you think they are in PS as I was getting very dark output from PS initially, only to find out that I had missed a calibration setting. Now, I get virtually identical output from PS or the Canon EasyPhotoPrint.

I've had terrible results on my Canon i860 with HP paper. I get good results with Canon papers as well as Epson.

What he said, these are on my girlfriends epson. Which simply hated the kodak glossy stuff.
I think you just gotta find something thats works well with what you've got.

Found Canon Paper fine , of course, but also Office Depot Glossy-(by Kodak, which is really NCR Paper) gave great results.
I have also used Kodak with no problem.

As a tried and true S9000 and i950 user, I have never been able to get an acceptable print from HP papers. Try Ilford Gallerie or Red River. I have found that their 68-72 lb. papers render great prints. Both are also cheaper than HP.
