I came up with a basic site, but I am not sure if I like it or I want to scrap it and start over. I am an amateur trying to start a part time business (for now). The password to a test gallery on the site is Sheri (they are just some test shots of my wife). Anyways, I would love to get an outside opinion on my site to help me decide to keep it or start a new one.

The site is http://daveborg.com. Thanks,

David

I like what you've created - it's simple yet elegant.

One suggestion though, you might want to learn CSS. It would be better if you removed the inline styling HTML coding.

Here's some info on CSS:

OKay ....
The whole black site thing must die. Sooooo Over used. Soooo last year.
Design your site so it will autosize to any screen size.
Also have a "Specials" section where people can print out a coupons for like fathers day special etc. thats what I'm about to add to my site.
The "About Us" section add a Mission Statment.
Make your font size larger for larger screen sizes like mine cuz I can hardly read it.
And add a Product section so people can see what items you offer.

And Damn it, I just looked at mysite and the damn Gallaries link is Dead.... nobody tells me jack!
So before I go on and on LOL let me fix the crap in my own house LOL

Nice - plain and simple - but really don't like the font on the pricing page - too busy...

Its ok but it really didn't grab me. Try searching google for photography website templates and see what else is out there. These layouts may well be tried and tested! try here: http://www.entheosweb.com/website_templates/preview/photography.asp

Also, as mentioned, change the font. Although fancy fonts may seem nice, for people with poor eye-sight it can make it really hard to read and they probably won't go any futher into your site! Keep the font simple. Take POTN for example - on this page I can see one bit of fancy text - 'forums' up the top. All the rest it easy to read and use for navigation.

Choosing a background colour can be very difficult - black is the the easy option. I'm not saying don't do it but just maybe consider other colours as some may find alot of black dark space to be opressive. Black can make for a very powerful looking website, try introuducing areas of grey - this sometimes hepld.

CSS is a fairly simple language and there is lots of online help as well as books. It is worth learning and using as it will make your website more future friendly and with the right use can ensure your website is viewed correctly on all screen sizes/resolutions and internet browsers.

Just my 2p worth.

Thanks for the response guys. Some of those comments were already on my mind. That is why I was thinking of scrapping it. I may try to improve it and keep from spending some decent money on a good sight. But if I cannot, then I guess I will do what needs to be done. I surely do not want a sub-par website representing me. Again, thanks for all the input.
