I have a canon 300d and I have been trying to create trails of light using a small led light. when the image is on the camera it is great but as soon as I get it onto the computer it looks awful and the shadows and light have separated badly
I am not sure how to put an image into a msg but can anyone help me!!

I don't seem to be able to get it to work.....it's strange that it only happens in adobe tho, have I got the colour settings wrong?

I did this a couple of weeks ago. it was fun but I didn't think the results where amazing. what are you trying to do exactly? do you want just the light path from the bulb to show up against total blackeness or do you want the surroundings exposed also?

I tried with a mini maglite also (with the end taken off in "candle" mode) it gave a slighly different result which you might find you like better.

You can email me a couple of photos if you like and I'll post them on this thread for you if you cant get it to work. (please use photoshop or equivilant to save as jpeg for web at 800x600 resolution first :) )

er, email is my member name at yahoo.co.uk

I just noticed you have your own website, so putting a message should be as simple as uploading them to a directory on your website somehwere, and then using the appropriate image tag in your message to link it in. I haven't done it on this forum so I will try now.

Here are some samples of what I did:

this one was a small keyring LED:

and these two where a AA size mini maglite:

[IS0 400/f6/20secs/timer]

to place an image in your post use this code:

obviously replace the link to my photo with the link to yours

blacktears:

Make sure your aperture (Fstop) is high so the only light that gets let in is the light of the torch. This way you will get crisp images that only show the light. With a torch it ends up lighting up the room so an LED might be better.

arumdevil,

The third one of you moving from one spot to the next is incredible. How long were you in the first position? Nice work!

thanks! i was just experimenting really. I don't remember how long I was in the first position before I moved, but it was for most of the 20 seconds, then I moved after maybe 16 or 17 I think...
