Well this will be a first for me.. A Question for anyone who cares to respond..

Would a 24-105 F4L IS be a good choice for this event? look in my sig and you can see what I own already, Or is there any other Lensess that would be better? I will be upfront but about 10feet back due to the Video portion, The event is pretty well lit.. Any suggestions would be greatly taken.

IMHO the 24-105 would be a poor choice lens... for any event under stage lighting you are best served with much faster glass - a 24-70 f2.8 would probably be pretty good but I think the best lens for the job would be a 70-200 f2.8 IS as even though you will be reasonably close to the stage I assume the models will be walking down the runway from the back.

Of every Fashion Show I've shot, I wouldn't use anything less than 2.8.

The last fashion show I photographed the video guys blocked every one of my shots! I walked away without any great photographs.

The first fashion show for the same designer didn't have any video guys, and my shots turned out awesome!

So watch out for those guys, they are very inconsiderate.

Yeah the videocamera people take up so much room with their tripods.

When we're shooting fashion show we are using a 24-70 f2.8 camera. This is what we always use and it works great. It shows the true beauty of the models and the shot.
