I have seen some ebay listings for Canon Rebel that are cheaper then retail price. Most includes additional stuff like extra battery, filters, camera-care kits, etc.
What are the pros and cons of purchasing this camera on Ebay? Anyone care to share their experience of buying online with us? Thanks.

The biggest con is that the auction is a scam. There have been numerous sellers who have had their accounts hijacked by hackers who then auction off expensive non-existent electronics (digital cameras are a big one). The buyers never see the goods. Make sure you check out the seller thoroughly before buying. Check their feedback, see what types of items they have sold in the past, etc. I would also suggest getting a phone number and contacting him as well. In the end, it may be worth the extra few dollars to buy it from a reputable seller or retailer.

Please do not take this personally...I'd hate to see you get taken for a ride and be out $1000 and then have to go to a reputable dealer to get it, spending 2x what you had planned.
I know we all want the cheapest price, but to what end will we go to the point that we're not looking heard enough to not see that this is a scam? I have seen a few people get the shaft on ebay. I will not shop there for camera kit(stuff). I do all my business thru B&H in Manhattan, NYC, NY. While we're on the subject, avoid Brooklyn (or Crooklyn dealers as I call them) like the black plague! For further info...
Please go see the sticky in "Marketplace" called "Member Reccommended Vendors" as I started it to give people a heads up where to shop with reputable dealers.

Like Canuk and SoCal69 have said the biggest con is getting ripped off. The pro is you can get a great deal on a camera and accessories. I have bought a lot of things off of eBay and have never had a problem. I personally would not buy something as expensive from someone on eBay, to much risk. However, if the sale does go bad you might be able to stop payment through your credit card company. The most important thing to do is check the sellers feedback. From the listings I have seen they are not great deals so you might be better off going to B&H.
