Help w/Linear Sharpen

I have the D30 and D60 and use BreezeBrowser to view and convert RAWs. I have heard lots about linear sharpening and have yet to figure whats being talked about. Can someone help me understand and do this ... very simple steps please. :)

If you go to Pekka's LinearSharpen page (http://www.photography-on-the.net/D30/linear/), I suspect most if not all of your questions will be answered. He has a good explanation of what it's all about there.
