Did some shots of a dancer friend of mine in a field today. Still downloading my CF cards, but I had a quick fiddle with a few of them in Lightroom....

A very nice set you have here. Number 3 has to be my favorite. I wish I could make my pictures pop like yours.

Thanks peeps
#3 is definately my favourite too. The funny thing is, I knew I wanted to do some jumping shots, but that shot was just a complete off the cuff idea. I was lying on the ground and just looked at where the sun was. I had to get her to move forward a bit to block the sun with her head. Just shows that the best shots often aren't the planned ones!

Great shots...love the look on her face. #1 is my favorite.
In #2 she looks deathly skinny....

In #2 she looks deathly skinny....
She's not the biggest of girls and as a dancer she's quite toned which really shows up in that shot as she was doing a running jump!
My biggest problem was actually trying to make her look her age. She's 19, but in some of the shots she looks about 12!!!

Where you using a CP Filter to get the sky like that, or are you just skilled at photoshop?
Very nice photos.

Nice series. I prefer #1 and 2. The sky is nice in #3 but the pose just ruin it for me, sorry...she just looks odd at that angle I think personally. #4 is different maybe a bit dark? Nice series non the less.

Love all 4 (esp #3). What did you use for lighting? I'm going to be shooting (first time) a couple of people this weekend and I'm trying to "cram" before then... :)

Thanks for all the comments! :D
There's no photoshopping in any of them. I wasn't using a CP either. I had my Canon Speedlite 430EX mounted on a stand shooting straight onto Hannah who was being backlit by the sun.
I then shot so that the background was underexposed and the flash filled her. I had the Speedlite set to manual and on full power. It was only about 4' away from her.
#2 is slightly different in that I had the sun over my right shoulder and the flash on camera left.
I did all the PP work in Lightroom. I didn't really adjust the tone curve much. I boosted the contrast by quite a bit and desaturated the colours by about 50%.

These shots are fantastic! Nothing more needs to be said!
Lighting and color tone are perfect. Captures are perfect. Model is perfect. Love the locations and the action that is in the shots!
