The usual rules apply:

- usual forum rules for image posting apply which means max 800 pixels on longest side and max 2 attachments.
Have fun.

What a coincidence. I just returned from a quick morning trip out photographing not knowing the theme.
And I saw this little horsie running around in the field.

Excellent shots Tommy and Joayne. I had planned to shoot some other types of motion this week but when I saw this I wanted to share it (I still hope to shoot more as well).
We went to a neat "Zoo" today. It is called the Lazy 5 Ranch (http://www.lazy5ranch.com). It is a drive through (or ride on a wagon pulled by horses) safari type place on several acres. It was relly neat. We got to feed all kinds of animals including Giraffes, Bison, several types of deer and antelope, Emus, Ostrich, and more. They also have a prarie dog exhibit. Luckily one decided to grace us with his presence. He came out and let me take several photos of him. He would lay down in the dirt and shake in it, almost like trying to get dirty. :) I was shooting at what I thought were high shutter speeds (1/1000, 1/800, etc.) but I still got motion in this shot at 1/800.

HAHA - great stuff so far!
I shall now lower the standards :)
These pictures are linked because, even at 800px on the longest side, they are still rather large for people on restricted bandwidth or slower connections:
Click here to see the water feature on Lake Burley Griffin (http://www.kiwi-in-oz.com/pictures/photo.php?photo=2158&exhibition=81&ee_lang=eng&u=30920,5)
While we were walking around the lake, the dog managed to scare off a few gulls:
As you will see, there is a lot of motion (http://www.kiwi-in-oz.com/pictures/photo.php?photo=2159&u=31401,6)!
I came across quite a few little birds, too, and my luck with them is such that most of the pictures taken suffered from motion blur... I may offer those as a 'consolation'! :)

Great work everyone.
Some of you know I do summer theatre. Wednesday through yesterday was our first run of the musical Jeykll and Hyde. One of the performers loves how her skirt twirls.

I got some horizontals also, but; too much clutter in the background that couldn't be avoided.
Will post one from today, after I do the PP.

I went to a dance recital for developmentally delayed adults, they were certainly in motion.

for the last number they moved off the stage and to the back of the gym to dace to "I Did It My Way" both fitting and moving.

Ok, I'm going to bend the rules slightly I'm afraid - if anyone objects I'll delete. I took this on the 9 June but did all the processing Saturday evening so I hope you'll pass it.
One of the attractions at the Royal Cornwall Show this year was the Human Cannonball. This is the result of drive mode and a buffer not quite as big as I would like...

I'm enjoying everyone's shots. It's interesting to see all the different interpretations and the different things people do on the weekends.
For this theme I decided to revisit a technique I once tried with film but failed miserably. I forget its name. The idea is to use a slow shutter speed and 2nd curtain flash. The slow shutter lets you blur motion, while the flash lets you freeze it to get a sharp image of the moving object. I discovered that using the technique is much easier with digital because I can instantly see and correct my mistakes. Here's my first shot -- a wind tossed daylilly.

For my second shot I visited the annual fair held by the small town closest to me. And I do mean small -- population is less than 1,000. The fair is held in a shady campground/park about a mile from the town. It features a variety of food and drinks, some games, displays of antiques cars and street rods, a small flea market, live entertainment and the kiddie ride shown below. It's a quaint ride, but the kids all squeal with delight when that tractor pulls then through the creek!

Great examples there.
Mark, cheating eh? I love it! I cheated also, too out the little pole the bendy has holding it up!
Barbara, love that ride.. truly home made it look! And good job on achieving your goal, I really like that effect.
Becky, That is a wonderful image
Crissa, those are very "moving" shots
Linkzi looks like you had a good day at the park
Becky, that is quite a skirt, I also like the way it moves.

Joayne -- So that's how you did it. I was wondering, but didn't have time to ask this morning. Thanks for your comments.

Here's a suggestion for this weekend. Let's try "community change." All communities change over time with new construction, neighborhood restorations, cultural changes, new businesses, closed businesses, etc. Maybe we can show some of the changes.

Sounds good, I'm stumped at the moment for what to shoot, that isn't unusual though.

Every Friday, I search out these threads with the intention of participating in the WWPD,but as usual, I forget until the following Tuesday! The community change idea is a great idea as there is so much growth around here that I cannot really take a shot without getting the changes in the frame. I am going to try to remember this time...tied a string to my finger and camera....LOL
