Is there a solar powered set up that is reasonably light/portable that will charge my 30D's batteries?

Can't help you there - but wouldn't it be cool to find a charger that interfaces with your cycle-wheel, so as the wheel turns, the battery charges....

There are solar arrays available for boaters and for backpackers, which provide 12v output. Paired with a car charger you have a voltage source!
