Vancouver, BC Tuner/Import show

I was there. It was my first Import Show and probably my last. I'm not really into those cars, but a friend from work really wanted to go, so I kept him company. The coolest pictures I took were of the booth babes and even that talent was a bit scarce.

I saw a bunch of 70-200mm lenses on the stage in front of the dancing, so I'm guessing one of those guys may have been you. :)

Please do share the pics you took. I'd be curious how someone else saw the show.

For the rest of you, yes I was there and I was on the platform amongst the various other 70-200 L's. I was the big guy in the green shirt, hard to miss :P

Were you the guy with the monopod and 70-200 f/2.8? Not that I was checking out your gear, but did you have a black Tamron bag too?

Yeah that was me, the bag is a Tamrac Pro 12, I absolutely love it :D. Was shooting with the 2.8 plus a 17-40 F4 at times with the flash bracket as well.

As for the model, I know her, she's a good friend, we went outside for a cigarette and did a little impromptu shoot.

And yes, that was the girl near the Ferrari. She looked very photogenic in person and I actually snapped a lot of shots of her, I am surprised at how bad most of them turned out.

I thought she looked very good in person too, but didn't want to risk offending you that it was your photography that made her look bad. I'm curious to see the other pics you snapped of her, nonetheless.

Ohh, her! I will see when I get home later if I can find some other pics to post. I still have my 935 RAW files on my hard drive. But I'm warning you, out of about 20-30 or so pics, that was the only one that made it, and just barely at that :P

LoL MegaHurtz, I saw your pics on Revscene great stuff I particularly like the opening image you have of BC place. I meant to come for roll-in but got kinda lazy and stayed home. haha

I managed to take a bunch of shots myself, but not having a proper flash yet, I didn't get anything overly spectacular. I found the lighting hard to work with this time around, especially at the Revscene booth from their flood lights.

Pretty much all my pics were of the models. I didn't find much else really that interesting. You can see the scene is slowly dying here, there were fewer cars this year than ones before and this year we only get one import car show.


Is anyone planning on checking out HIN or Formula D?

I didn't think the show was that great either. I think I already mentioned it, but it's probably the last "tuner" show I go to. There were a couple of nice looking models, but the talent was still mostly "B" grade.

I think it could have been better. For my First Tuner show, I didn't know what to expect so I will probably go to another. Especially to get more pictures.

Yeah it definitely looks like some of the hype in the scene is dying down. I've been do DTP the previous 2 years with my car, and this show I think was a little better than 2005 but not near as good as last year. But I've also done Sport Compact Nights the past 3 years and DTP always wins out. Even for a Canadian show it's good, I was at HIN in Seattle last year and it seemed to be on par with DTP. It might have had a little "more" to it, but I could easily attribute that to it being an American show and having access to some things that we don't up here in Canada.
