You all are such great photographers, I'm hoping you won't mind that these were taken with a film camera as I am trying to save up for a digital camera. Hopefully I can sell some of these and will be able to afford a 10D. I am posting them so you can tell me how to do a better job, therefore sell more and make more $ and buy the digital :)

or do you like this tilt better?

I would love to have more depth of field--so should I use a higher ISO and then close up the aperture?

Very gloomy day--Canon Elan7
Canon 70-200 f2.8 lens with 2X
200 ISO
500 shutter speed
fstop (I think) 5.6

I guess I don't mind that these were shot on film. I've thought about doing it myself at times. Anyway, I like the second one better. Since there is not much else in the photos other than the karts and drivers, I think tilting the photo adds a little more to catch your interest. I would try getting some more of the background to catch more of the story, assuming the background is interesting. Just some ideas to try...

Off the subject, where is Ham Lake, MN??? I am originally from Southern MN, near Blue Earth, but never heard of Ham Lake.

What, you've never heard of the Twin Cities--Ham Lake and Lake Netta? :)
Ham Lake is a 25 miles NE of Minneapolis.

That would work. (Or wait for a brighter day.)
Just use enough to keep the 2nd car sharp. A bit of blur in the background adds to the sense of speed.
