I like the idea of the first one, but there is something that needs to be done to make it better, but I'm having a hard time putting my finger on what it is... Maybe get a little more wall in the left of the photo so the green window is not right along the edge. Maybe even show a little more of the ground, so we can see the bottom of the stairs better. I'm not exactly sure how those changes would affect the photo composition, but they are just some thoughts.

Yeah, I know what you mean, there is something needed in the picture. It sometimes looks too busy. Unfortunately I cropped the picture pretty tight when I shot it and excluded any of the ground. That might have made it less busy.
Thanks

I like the first too. I think it's the gate that is disturbing, or rather that the photo ends just after the gate. It draws my eye there and I want to know what's outside the picture, further along the wall.
What about straightening it up and cropping the right bit off? Is this any better? A little tighter?

Have you tried framing it? Have a funny feeling that it might help.

Contact and Meow,
great team work, IMHO!
When I first saw the photo, I liked it but thought very much along Meow's lines.
So when I scrolled down the thread ... voila, there it was!
Maybe it would be even better if it was exactly square.
Sure works for me now.
Best regards,
Andy
