Is there a significant difference between these two for post processing, which one is more capable do you think.

Thanks

As mjuch as I am a true devote~ of ACDsee... I find ti is next to useless for real post processing work.. (Mind you I DON'T have version 6, but even so...)

ACDSee allows you to do only a few manipulations.. and even the ones it does do.. you do not have much control.

Elements on the other hand gives nearly as much functionality as full blown Photoshop... they really are very different products.

What ACDSee is good for is viewing, and bulk tasks .. you can select an entir folders contents .. (or just sertain images..) and run a batch rename,. then a batch resize.. you can select all the images that need to be rotated from landscape to portraight and rotate them all in one step.. etc..

But as far as levels.. contrast maipulation, color correction, noise reduction, sharpening etc... then Elements blows ACDsee out of the water.

Just to clarify things, ACDsee has Fotocanvac for editing.

I have ACDSee, elements 2 & CS. Elements would be alot better for post processing. I use ACDsee for quick viewing, duplicating files and I like using fotoslate for picture packages. but if you're going to edit might as well start with adobe and grow from there.

I understand that it has foto-canvas..

I have fotocanvas on this very PC I am typing on.. and it is at best.. a "toy" compared to a real editor like Elements... :)

Again,. to answer the original question specifically

Yes! The difference is SIGNIFICANT.. very much so.

Thank you guys,

I think one can have/use both, each for a different task.

I like Vegas Poboy idea if you're going to edit might as well start with adobe and grow from there.

Thanks again
