Hi,
I a newbie with a recently purchased Canon Powershot A75. I'm just discovering digital fotography but have some experience with a 35mm SLR. I wonder what the speed in terms of xX (x150KB) of the standard CF card that comes with the camera is. If I wish to buy a CF card with a larger capacity I do not know what speed I should buy from what brand. e.g. 8x or 12x or 16x.
What speed do I need if I still want to be able to make flicks with the camera do a fast sequence of e.g. 2/3 shots per second in good quality?

I've had good continuous shot performance with Sandisk Ultra-II CF cards in my A70.

Sandisk UltraII's seem like a pricey overkill IMHO for an A70. Consider the cheaper and quite fast Viking 512MB or 1GB. They are very cheap. Check out my recent posts:

If you want the low down on Compact Flash Card Speeds, check out this link:

But I think your A75 itself will be ultimate bottleneck. The higher 30X and 40X cards are great for high end digital cameras that can make use of the higher speeds.

Good Luck.
