I always like the captive bird shots people post here. They look a lot different than wild birds usually do. Healthier, happier and they actually seem to take an interest in the human activity around them, rather than taking flight in the opposite direction. :)

nice shots! did you have a flash at the time, b/c a little fill on the eyes would've been awesome.

I like all these shots, they are nice and sharp, the portrait though (#1) is my favourite. Allthough it is nice to see a Barn Owl, reminds me a little of the first time I saw one, I was only little and was walking through a forest with my mom and dad and brothers, we walked right past it (it was on a post), when my older brother said "hey whats that" all I saw as I turned around was the rear end of a retreating Barn Owl....still at least I saw one in the wild.....thats quite a feat nowadays.

I have no clue. Although I like taking pictures of birds I need to learn more about them since I am totally ignorant in the subject.

I believe it is a Black Hawk
