Hi,

I purchased a canon A530 camera last month and was using with my PC to down load photos from it.Sometimes back PC was attacked by virus and I reinstalled Windos XP with SP2 (same as previously). After that it was not detecting camera.I tried without zoom browser software and with zoom browser. The result was same. I uninstalled and reinstalled Zoom browser, even though the same problem repeated. So I tried the camera with my office PC, and was detecting (there I tested with out zoom browser, since I can't install it in my office PC).And I could able to down load photos.

But in my PC, all other USB devices are detectng in the same port and the camera only was not detecting. But if you are connecting it in first time it will show canon digital camera, and if I try to install new hardware device, it will pop up"some proble occured" and later if I switch off and switch on the camera, or replug on USB port, it not even detect the camera.

In my office PC also, I observed on thing like normaly when we plug any USB device it will show icon at PC try for the USB device and we can right click there to remove the USB device. In the case of my camera it is not not showing that icon .Is it Ok? So I was not able to 'safely remove " the camera.

I have cheched the USB cable with other devices and found ok, also I tried other working USB cable with my camara and found no posative result.

Please give me some solution those who have good in these area.

Have you check the device manager for conflicts???
If there exist conflict for that particular device its not going to redetect at that port.
Try another port.
Delete/uninstall any conflict in devic manager.
Reboot.
Reconnect camera and see if it will detect camera.
Have you fully update XP SP2.
Make sure that you have install the latest devie drivers for XP from MS.
Have you checked Scanner & Camera in control panel to see if the camera might be listed there???

You have problems with your USB! After you reinstalled XP did you install the USB driver?

Try the tip here (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showpost.php?p=3393902&postcount=4) about starting the Canon Camera Access Library service.

I had the same problem happen to me. My Canon Camera Access Library service, Windows Image Aquisition service, and SSDP discovery service weren't turned on.
