I was shooting an outside portrait of a young man the other day and I had my cameral in a vertical position on a tripod. The tripod has a pistol grip head.
While looking through the viewfinder of the camera I realized that the horizon was not straight. But no matter what I did I could not get the horizon straight with the camera on the tripod.
I did not want to spend a lot of time fiddling with the camera so I just took it off of the tripod and shot hand held.
I don't use a tripod that much and I had never had this happen before, that I noticed anyway, but it really freaked me out.
I normally just fix the horizon in Photoshop when it's off but this was the first time that I experience this delima with the tripod.
I know this is rather vague but if anyone has any hints on how to avoid this problem I would appreciate it.
Thanks
