So right now I am debating ordering a CopperHill Kit and cleaning my sensor myself , or sending it in to Canon to be cleaned.
Canon tech support says the turnaround is 7-10 days, but he didnt know how much it would cost.
The CopperHill kit comes to about $40.00 with shipping.
I figure the CopperHill is cheaper, but Id rest easier if a pro was doing it instead of me, but to decide i need to know
Does anyone know how much getting Canon to clean your sensor costs?

Just di your self. I was terrified of doing mine until I found the LENS PEN sednsor cleaner, I gave it a shot and it worked flawlessly and only took me about 5 minutes and the sensor is now spotless for a little while

what about a local camera shop? theres a camera repair shop in town that i called and charges $35. not too bad i guess.
im the type that if i do it myself, even if i did it right ill still be paranoid on whether something is right or if theres something i mightve messed up lol

i just send my cameras back to canon to get them cleaned, i would rather not take the chance of scratching something.. even tho im very cautious..... :p

Had the same concerns as the OP. Ordered the Copperhill Wet/Dry kit and it worked wonderful. I was nervous at first...but with some of the online tutorials it was a piece of cake...and looks great afterward. Just read everything carefully before proceeding. :)

That is right by where I live and before we go to Alaska, I'd like to get mine cleaned. When you say "fast" - was it minutes, hours or days and how many? Thanks!
