Could just be me but the level 8 vs the level 10, the level 8 looks much better.

I'm not a PS expert or even a novice for that matter but are there different level like 1-10 or just 8 and 10? I think you should try a little less of a level because it just looks too sharp.

there are 14 different levels to choose from. i will try a bunch of different ones using that dragonfly here in a bit.

ill try to get the 100% crops done asap
u will also have to click the image to see it full size, i guess theres a width maximum set to posted images, thats why its jagged.

I've tried and really like intellisharpen.
I get similar results with sharpnsmart at medium

Just medium and high.
However, you can layer the result, and adjust opacity to taste.

IntelliSharpen
ok guys... i threw together an image that shows ALL 14 levels of sharpening that the Intellisharpen plugin can do on a 100% crop of that dragonfly i posted earlier.
pheeew that was a lot of work.... anyways the file is like 732k and is a whopping 800x4950! you will have to scroll down thru it so u can see them all so i placed a copy of the original to the left side of each level of shapness for comparison
take a look

I do mostly landscapes and my criteria for good sharpening is to bring out the crisp detail of the subject without messing up the sky with noise of funny looking clouds, and especially the 'halo' around the horizon that is often seen. I've recently started using crispimage (http://www.softwhile.com/product_cipi.html) (photoshop plug-in) and have gotten good results.

I have been looking for a good sharpening action, and was set to download FM's intellisharpen. But then I tried Crisp Image and it works really nice. You can use it for 7 days free - has anyone used both intellisharpen and crisp image and if so, which do you like better.
