I like the angle a-bit but not really the picture (this is my *opinion* which is worth nothing much at all :P ) maybe adjust the settings for a richer color and a long exposure at night or during day with filters so it looks like the road is empty.. my $0.02

Nothing special at this picture, maybe you can try nightshot, could be more interesting. :)

the telephone poles on the right are cool, set in a tight row, something is missing though...

The telephone poles are cool. Maybe try to get a gas station sign and the road in the the background.

Thanks for the comments ( 'specially the compliments :) ). One of the
real problems I see with taking pictures is transferring what the eye sees
to the camera. I cross this highway many times a year going to and from the local WaWa, and my eyes are always pulled to this scene, which is shot from the center divider. In this case the lens really doesn't do much justice to the eyes.

There is an Exxon station right next to where I was shooting, and I did
take some photos that I was even less impressed with than this one. But
one reason for that is I was shooting in daylight, and the gas stations IMO
really lend themselves well to nighttime shots. I'm going to try some night
shots with my 50mm 1.8 and see what I get.

I just noticed this but isn't the left stoplight on the wrong side of the road?

And another one at the next intersection as well!

You guys get a lot of people driving on the wrong
side of the road there? And if you do, I am not sure
you should encourage them like that... the light on
the other side should maybe be RED, ALL THE TIME!

:) New Jersey drivers will use their side of the road and half of yours, as well, if it will get them to wherever they're going a half-second sooner, and
the consequenses to you be damned. I'm not kidding, either. We are the
WORST. As for those lights being on the wrong side--good of you to notice!
It's just the rationale of our motor vehicle administrators. It may seem
confusing at first glance, or maybe a case of safety overkill, but let me say
it again differently: When you drive in N.J., there is no such thing as being
over-cautious. There was a time when driving was pretty safe here. My
wife says the reason things have changed is because of all the New Yorkers
moving into the state. She has a point.
