I started to play a bit with lighting last night. I know the look I'm going for, now I just have to learn how to create it on the small scale so that when the time comes, I can re-create it on a large scale (you know, people size)

I like the third one.
The first and second are hard to categorize. The crop is too small, IMO, so there are too few objects in the picture.

Yeah, once I get a little more experimenting with light and shadow then I will move onto using people instead of small items.
