Nice..
Just a quick Q, They want a few shots for Posters and Flyers... What does one usually Charge.. (I am notlooking for an exact # just a Ball park figure) I was thinking $200 for the shoot and for pics..
Any and all thoughts are greatly taken..
Thanks

How long is a piece of string?
I'd charge them an hourly rate - the rate would depend on how detailed the shoot is and how big the band is.

Cool, Thanks for the info.. I just want to make sure That I am not overcharging as well..
It should be a few hours, and only about 5 members in the band..
Also the Piece of string is only as long as how far down you cut it...

$200 is NOT overcharging by any means. Dont worry about that.
If it was something that was only going to take a few hours, I would charge them about $750, roughly an average half day rate. If its going to take more than a couple hours, a full day rate of $1200-$1500 would be in order. They get ONE usage included in that price and then additional uses would be extra. Also they would be paying all expenses such as travel, meals, any rental equipment needed, assistant if needed and any stylists if needed.
$200 is NOT overcharging. ;)
BTW, I NEVER use hourly because someone always feels like they are getting screwed. Client can feel like you arent working fast enough, if things go wrong they feel like they arent obligated for the extra time, you might feel like you need to discount that time to them and then you feel screwed, etc, etc. Hourly is NOT a good way to charge for photography. Do it by half-day or day rates and it works out much better.

Well... It went great today, Although the "Manager" of the band wanted me to shoot them in front of a Green Screen. Pics came out great and got Paid... The manager of the band stated that he is going to put me into their contract so I get a Cut, I might have to travel with them on occaision.
Good stuff..

Well done on the gig and having satisfied clients.
One comment though - the photos don't convey any sense of who the band are or what their attitude is. Apart from the one with the guitar they could just be people in front of a green background.
From what you said about the manager wanting them in front of a green screen maybe there wasn't much you could do about it.

the hand positioning is interesting in the third pic lol a three quarter fist, wide open fingers and a fist ready to punch.
