question with resizing images taken with A80

hi everyone!

i'm a new digital camera user. I have the Powershot A80. I usually take most of my pics in the superfine mode so all the pics are huge when I download them to my computer. Is there a quick way to resize the images so they are email "friendly"? Right now, I am opening the pics up separately in Photoshop and resizing them - this way is very tedious. Any tips would be appreciated.

Hi Newbie.

In your settings you have 4 different options as to the size, ie: compretion ratio available to you, you may find it better to set this at M2, you can still keep your resolution setting at superfine if you so wish but once downloaded your images will be at a much better size for e-mailing etc...

Also you can resize the immages via your software included with your A80.

Consider using a software viewer and handling tool, such as Breezebrowser (www.breezesys.com). With that, you can quickly create email and proof sheet sized pictures for sending off to people.

I think Zoombrowser can also do it quickly. But I would suggest shooting at maximum size and quality. Why throw away all that good information. If you shoot small, then your images will be forever only email worthy.

Here here on shooting LARGE and SUPERFINE. Why own a 4 MG camera if you are going to shoot LOW RESOLUTION/HIGH COMPRESSION pictures?

Shoot big/save to hard drive/save copies of the pictures you are going to e-mail to a separate directory and use a software program to resize those for e-mailing and posting on the web. Both Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8 and Photo Album 4 and 5 have the capabilities to mass resize images.
