OK so not camera gear, but its time to fuel another hobby.
Id love some thoughts on these images guys!
Shoot with my XT and the Tamron, usually with the built in flash and the macro function

Tools not toys:D Nice shots. Life time warrenty and lots of lost skin those are.

I like the idea, but to improve the overall look, you will need to remove the heavy chromatic aberration. The purple stuff. That means you will have to shoot with a less powerful light source.

But never fear, it can be fixed!

Hmmm, hadnt really noticed it much, but on a second glance there it is!.
Do you think that would be put to blame on the flash? its just the xt's built in version, so I would assume thats the reason, the rest of the lighting was rather weak. Perhaps a bit of diffusion next time, or just some more PP!

The problem with shooting mirror finishes is, they are so darn shiny. I know, I know, that sounds redundant, but it is the truth. If you shoot a mirror with your flash, you get a really bright area that the CMOS has a hard time rendering.

If you can indeed defuse the flash, it will help greatly. If not, just do it in the PP as you mentioned.
