Hi everyone,

since I have been accused of being asleep in another thread here, I thought I'd take some pictures in the backyard today and post them. :)

It IS winter here in Australia, as my first photo will demonstrate. Taken with the D30 and 70-200 L f/2.8:

... but it is not all bad as the next few will show. All of these were taken with the 70-200 L f/2.8 and all three Kenko extension tubes attached (some of these flowers are pretty small):

Take THAT, Howie! :D

Great color .. so I guess that you are right .. winter is not so bad in OZ.

I especially liked the "our Canadian Fall colors" that were present in the 1st photo ... and its sharpness, DOF, and light are really quite beautiful.

I must admit that we are starting our 2nd day of straight rain (after an earlier wet day this week) and poppies and irises are looking quite distressed. So as far as they are concerned it might as well be winter here too!

Thanks Rudi

HOWIE

PS:
On my monitor your banding photo was quite dark and I had a hard time seeing the banding.

Rudi,

Now you really have got me confused. You say it is winter there in Australia and you have these kind of flowers. Here in my area, it is just starting SUMMER soon and I just now have the flowers getting to the point that they are wanting their picture taken.

What's this all about? Is that why you call it the land of OZ? :)

Nice shots, I guess I will have to go out and put my flowers out of their misery and post some here for you to see what summer flowers look like. (kind of like your winter ones) :p
